A: Ximagi is a web-based photograph archive and retrieval infrastructure. For more information, see About Ximagi.

Q: How do you pronounce "Ximagi?"

A: Ximagi is pronounced ZIH-mah-jee.

Q: Who uses Ximagi?

A: Ximagi powers Abaca USA, Brainpix, and www.chriscarr.org.

Q: Can Ximagi be customized?

A: Yes! Ximagi's look and feel are fully customizable through a CSS file. Also, top navigation links can be customized by making simple changes to a PHP file. Equally simple changes to that same PHP file control whether registration is required, and whether registration grants immediate access or is deferred for your review. For an example of a customized Ximagi installation, see www.chriscarr.org.

Q: Can I integrate Ximagi with my existing site?

A: Yes! Ximagi's top navigation can be changed to match your existing site and to link into it. And Ximagi's style can be altered to match your existing look and branding.

Q: Can I change my photos once uploaded to Ximagi?

A: Yes! Ximagi supports the following changes:

IPTC editing, hiding, and publishing can be performed on batches of images. Rotating must be performed on individual images.

Q: What is a lightbox?

A: Lightboxes are user-defined groups of images. Your users can use lightboxes to store groups of images for later reference, to email contact sheets to friends and colleagues, and to download images in a singal zip file. Lightboxes are unavailable to users until they log in. Lightboxes are not available at all on sites that do not require a log in.

Q: What does Ximagi cost?

A: Due to the competitive nature of the software industry, we do not publish our licensing fees. We offer different licensing for individual photographers, agencies, and enterprises. Contact Two Birches for pricing.

Q: How can I get a copy of Ximagi?

A: Ximagi is licensed through an Application Service Provider arrangement in most cases. You cannot download Ximagi and install it on your server. If you would like to evaluate Ximagi, contact Two Birches.
